Reserve Bank Staff Co-operative Building Society Ltd. was formed and land of an area of 2.28 acres that had an agricultural well sunk seventy years ago was purchased by the Society in S. No. 139/2, Thiruvamiyur Town Panchayat, Chennai District.

This piece of land has Mahathma Gandhi Road to its north and Survey No. 138 to its South. Proud to exhibit a DTCP/LPDM Approved Layout 3/74, this well planned private layout was developed into a full fledged residential Colony by members of our Society. It consists of twenty four residential plots. A common purpose plot was marked around the agricultural well. Subsequently, this ground well was closed and the entire plot is now called Temple Park. Gravel roads in the Colony were also formed at the expense of the members of the Society

Thiruvanmiyur Town Panchayat later became part of Corporation of Chennai now called the Greater Chennai Corporation.

With two east west roads and a north south road, Our layout is spacious and green and has an environmentally conscious neighborhood. To the West is the land owned by famous film maker late Sri. Sridhar and to our East along the Mahathma Gandhi Road presently stands the V-Excel Academy.

The owners of the 2.28 acres of land (Twenty four members of our Co-operative Society) were allotted plots in which they constructed their houses by acquiring loan from their employer the Reserve Bank of India. After Loans were paid up, plot allotment orders were issued to each owner.

The Society currently functions as Reserve Bank Colony Residents’ Welfare Association, a registered association, which  is managed by very efficient members with great vision.
